Mr. Gordon is a founding member of the Band of the California Battalion having been a member since 1993. He holds a BA and MA in Biological Sciences from California State University, Dominguez Hills.  Despite the biology education he has spent most of his professional career in the field of computer science and broadcast systems engineering. He has done considerable work in the development and implementation of high-definition video technology. Mr. Gordon currently is the National Business Development Manager for Schneider Optics, Inc.

Sheldon is married to Victoria Gordon, the band vocalist. Sheldon and Victoria have one son, Aaron, who is one of the band's tuba players. When not playing in the band Sheldon is an avid astronomer.
