David A. Linson David Linson has been a proud member of the Band of the California Battalion's Eb Alto Horn section for over 10 years. David is a facilities technician with DirecTV's Los Angeles Broadcast Center in Marina Del Rey. He has a B.A. degree in computer studies from California State University Long Beach and was also a music performance major for three years at UCLA right out of high school. He studied technical forestry for a semester and completed an electrical apprenticeship at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard. He also served in the U.S. Army. He is the father of three wonderful daughters, two fine grandkids and two-and-a-half sons-in-law. David began playing the piano when he was six years old. With a bit of motivation from his father he got into his elementary school's percussion section in 4th grade and started on the French horn in the 5th grade. He has played with many community bands and orchestras, studied with Wendahl Hoss, Gene Sherry, Fred Fox, Gale Robinson, and Sinclair Lott. Dave played in the U.S. Military Academy's West Point Band from 1972-1973. He also loves to sing harmony, play keyboards, guitar, and bass guitar, and write Christian songs. He's DEFINITELY a confirmed 'music-holic' ! ! ! |
